Private and commercial spaces need to be designed with the greatest concern, since they form our daily surroundings and nowadays have become our natural environment. Set between architecture and design, interior design plays an important role, directly concerning our standard of living.

Nitori Fabric

For the third Nitori design contest atomare developed the "Basic Harmony" line consisting of furniture, accessory and fabrics, that can be used to create a coordinated space. The fabric line is characterized by its fresh colors and geometric patterns. The fabrics are meant to complement the interior and add color accents to a naturally toned space. Through the common principal of basic patterns and colors, the individual fabrics can be combined in various ways, meaning that a unique, yet coordinated space can be created through them.

Electrolux Kitchen

This concept for the Electrolux Kitchen Design Award proposes a contemporary living space for a modern family in an urban environment. Three multifunctional zones cater for everyday welfare and create opportunities for incidental encounters and communication of the family members.

The "Function Wall" houses all necessary kitchen equipment and offers exceeding storage space. The "Island" functions as a bar, used for quick snacks and communication, as well as for a collective cooking experience. The "Lounge Table" plays an everyday role for all kind of collective activities, besides its function as a low seating dining table. Natural materials and the integration of indoor garden elements create a harmonic atmosphere for modern family life.

Penthouse

A design for a contemporary penthouse, that features luxurious, open spaces complemented with modern furniture and accessories. The spacious interior with spectacular views continues on a vast roof terrace, that is clad in a natural, dark stone grid, into which plantation boxes and water basins are integrated, to form an urban garden.

Canoe Club

The extension to the existing club house of the "KV Keistad" in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, contains boat storage for up to 380 canoes and kayaks on the ground floor and changing rooms, storage and a training room on the upper floor. Due to the low budget, the construction and detailing is as basic as possible, yet providing excellent function and a pleasant atmosphere.

Olympic Welcome Pavilion

The entrance pavilion to the historic olympic village in Berlin, Germany is based on the existing foundation of a team dorm from 1936. Its volume follows the original masterplan for the village and is covered with a perforated copper coat. The perforation displays an abstracted gymnastic sequence. The interior is characterized by fresh, inviting colors and natural materials. It features a small shop and info counter, as well as a cafe and a presentation / exhibition space.

Poolbar

The temporary interior for the Poolbar festival in Austria is characterized through a network of uniquely styled spaces. On the ground floor the warm blue "Living Room" invites visitors to chill out and relax aside the connected concerthall. The furniture is designed to force active, communicative sitting. The big hall on the top floor is also used as concerthall, but serves mainly as cafe space. Light Curtains structure this big room and generate a cozy, warm atmosphere.

Music Lounge

The Music Lounge offers events for a young audience. Three existing windows are transformed into flat lavalights, that generate a spectacular effect from the outside and the inside. The dance floor is characterized by light poles, that consist out of a combination of lavalight, pulsating LED and a stroboscope. Minimalistic furniture and fresh graphics intensify the atmosphere of this young music club. An interior concept for Sinot Design Associates.

Private Home

This private home draws its atmosphere from the contrast of the dark floor against the bright furniture and carpets. The livingroom is furnished strictly modern and offers space for a relaxed way of living. The bedroom is inspired by japanese calmness and creates, with its soft leather bed and the fresh flower prints on the walls, an intimate, yet open atmosphere.
